What is a Dutch virtual long number?

A virtual long number (VLN) is a dedicated Dutch phone number for receiving SMS. It is not a mobile number, and there’s no SIM card for you to install.

Do I need to be in the Netherlands to use my number?

No. Your number receives texts wherever you are, and they reach your apps over Wi-Fi or mobile data. There’s no SIM card to carry and no roaming.

Can I send texts or make calls?

No. Tether Mobile plans are inbound only: no outgoing texts, replies, calls or mobile data.

How long does it take to get my number?

Most activations take a minute or two. We email you when your number is ready.

How does the SMS allowance work?
