Is Tether Mobile a VoIP service?
Getting Started
Tether Mobile is an SMS receiving and forwarding service, not an internet calling service. Tether Mobile plans do not include voice calls.
New US numbers are real mobile numbers. Numbers in Canada, the UK and the Netherlands are virtual long numbers (VLNs). A virtual number is not the same as a mobile number, and services may treat them differently for verification codes.
Verification-code compatibility varies by service, country and number type. Check our service compatibility page before relying on a number for an important account.
